Developing a site Environmental Management Plan (EMP) is a good way of checking that all the risks have been addressed and of providing a means to protect your site and the local environment on an ongoing basis. The Spill Response Plan (SRP) is a significant part of the EMP.
Councils are now moving more towards requiring industrial sites to have an EMP.
IWS can assist with or fully develop your EMP and SRP, and assist with staff training.
Perhaps it would be more useful to develop the environmental controls across your industry group. IWS is involved in the development of Codes of Practice for industrial sector operators. Its most significant contribution in this area is the writing of the Liquid and Hazardous Waste Code of Practice in 2003.
