The IWS Team
The IWS team comprises a small group of consultants with engineering and science experience. A technician/electrician provides system support to, and generates monitoring data from, client sites. The team provides a wide skill base in the field of environmental solutions. Together, and with our associates, we offer a wealth of knowledge and experience to all projects we undertake. |
Jim Maddock
Jim established IWS in 1994. Jim has worked in the waste and chemical industry for 20 years. He is experienced in industrial wastewater treatment and pollution prevention solutions, from investigation and the control concept through to system design and installation. Jim also has experience in wastewater monitoring, consent application, hazardous waste collection and treatment and technical sales.
Prior to this Jim worked for 10 years in the food industry in laboratory and production areas.
Jim holds a New Zealand certificate in Science and a Diploma in Dairy Technology from the Auckland University of Technology and Massey University respectively. Jim is a trained Environmental Auditor. |

Mason Brown
Mason is a mechanical engineer with 30 years experience in process, fabrication, petroleum and manufacturing industries in NZ. He most recently worked with Stainless Engineering Co Ltd on the manufacture of customised plant for food, beverage and waste industry clients.
Mason’s role is the management of IWS design and build projects, and the provision of engineering input to the Group.
Mason holds a New Zealand Certificate in Mechanical Engineering from Manukau Institute of Technology. |

Pippa Rees
Pippa is a chemical engineer with experience across industry, predominantly in the area of wastewater compliance and consents.
Pippa’s work includes client compliance management, client 'self monitoring' reports, environmental auditing, consent writing and related engineering projects.
Pippa holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Chemicals and Materials) from Auckland University. |

Dean Leslie
Dean is a registered electrician and science technician who joined IWS in 2006.
Dean designs, manufactures, operates and maintains the field monitoring equipment for IWS. He completes client 'self monitoring' reports for regulators.
Dean also designs and manufactures specialist monitoring units for clients and assists in the design and installation of electrical and engineering projects. |

Since IWS commenced operations in 1994, cooperative arrangements with a range of
specialists has evolved. When IWS does not have the in-house experience, other parties
contribute to the project. These specialties include:
